KENNEDY, James Francis - 63, Port Hawkesbury, occurred
Thursday, April 27, 2000, in St.
Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Raymond and
Mary Agnes (Goodhew) Kennedy. He was a graduate of St. Mary's University in 1957; Nova
Scotia Technical College (TUNS), in 1959, as an Electrical Engineer. He was an employee of
Nova Scotia Power Commission from 1959-1968 and Stora Forest Industries, Point Tupper,
from 1968 until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and a member
of S.A.E.R.C. Advisory Council. He is survived by his wife the former, Bernadette Hureau;
daughters, Susan (David), Vancouver, B.C.; Kathy (Dale), Falkland; Jackie, Antigonish; Janice,
Troy; sons, Chris (Jacqui), Port Hawkesbury; Rob (Angie), Greely, Ont.; Sean (Andrea),
Atikokan, Ont.; brothers, Ray (Mary), Eastern Passage; Frank (Danielle), Halifax; grandchildren,
Nicolas, Ryan, Hadley, Pauline, Rebecca, Jeremy, Sydney, Kaitlyn, Juliet. He was predeceased by
sisters, Joan MacDougall, Patricia DeYoung, Sheila Morgan. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Sunday, 2-9p.m.
Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Tuesday in St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Bill Burke officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial
donations may be made to St. Joseph's Parish or Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society
